“It is a cycle, between blooming and wilting. It all depends on how we see it’s beauty.”
For a lot of my friends and I, we go through cycles of feeling bad for not being as present, in our lives or for each other, as we would like to be. “I love you” has sounded a lot like “It’s ok, I understand”. I think we’ve formed a little trampoline of “It’s ok, I understand” for each other. I was laughing about how fast my plant died, but I was actually feeling a little bit sad because, whilst I expected it (no green fingers), I certainly wasn’t expecting it to happen so quickly. An old friend randomly dm’ed me and said “It will have other blooms babe. Just continue to care for it even after all these current blooms have wilted. It is a cycle, between blooming and wilting. It all depends on how we see it’s beauty.” I think that’s pretty much what love has been for me in this time. Gentle re-assurance that we are trying our best, and that there’s beauty in each stage of wherever we are at, and to keep trying in our own little ways.
