A Coaching Culture at Work is Elemental

At Jade Coaching Academy, we keep our ear to the ground to ensure we are in touch with what our team members need. We do not compromise in the area of taking care of our people, and that’s why we ensure that we conscientiously design workplace culture and policy with the following in mind:

Being Judicious for the People

Hybrid and flexible work arrangements, staff development opportunities, collaborative job scoping and design, and our own employee assistance program, are just some of the ways we ensure that we create an environment for meaningful professional and personal development. For us, taking care of people means being aware of what things are in demand in this era and doing our best to ensure we can provide for them sustainably.

We encourage interns to have ‘capstone projects’ where they can learn more knowledge about an area of their interest such as education, business practices, research and based on their goals we help them to develop demonstrable skills in a workshop that they can showcase in a public forum, other soft skills i.e communications, presentation skills, simple design skills. This impact should carry on beyond this internship into other career opportunities in their future.

A Workplace Empowered by Coaching

As a coaching academy, we would be remiss if we did not advocate strongly for a coaching culture in the workplace – everyone has the potential and opportunity to practice their self-awareness, curiosity and develop what a growth mindset means to them on a daily basis. We also ensure that our team has access to in-house coaching, mentoring and access to our network of various physical and mental wellness experts. In a way, you could say that we have the opportunity to build a workplace with all the culture and policies we never had when we were employees.

As I reflect on my entrepreneurial journey thus far, I think one of the most fulfilling things about doing this, is that I get to put into practice everything the trials and tribulations of life have taught me. It is truly a privilege to have the time and space to reflect on past experiences, followed by the freedom to create something that channels my gifts into something impactful for others.

I will just conclude with a quote that resonates deeply with me, and I do my best to embody every single day. I hope it gives you inspiration, motivation and clarity.

“The purpose of life is to discover your gift. The work of life is to develop it. The meaning of life is to give your gift away.” – David Viscott
